About Us
Although the trade name Greater New Orleans Eye Physicians (GNOEP) was not adopted and used until 1986, this ophthalmic practice has been serving the Gentilly area of the city since 1958, formed by Drs. Anthony Fialla and Robert J. Cangelosi. In 1986, Glen C. Cangelosi joined the practice, and 3 years later Keith E. Cangelosi. For nearly two decades, the Cangelosi family of doctors treated their patients in the Greater New Orleans area. Dr. Keith left in 2005 to start a new practice on the Northshore. Dr. Jeffery J. Vinet joined the GNOEP practice in 2020. Dr. Henry Langhetee also helps to see patients on a part-time basis.
We provide general ophthalmologic services such as routine eye exams, diabetic retinopathy screenings, contact lens fittings, treatment of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, and surgical procedures, (i.e. minor office surgeries, including laser, small lid lesions, and chalazia; cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation; and glaucoma procedures. Our physicians are board-certified.
The doctors and office staff at GNOEP take pride in their roles and all strive to provide a friendly atmosphere and exceptional medical care. We utilize the latest technology to help diagnose and treat most eye conditions.
